Why a file from an AI chat is not yet a print file
Image generators (ChatGPT, Gemini, Midjourney) produce RGB raster images, usually PNG or JPG sized for screens, not for print. Such a file can be printed well if you take care of three things: the right pixel dimensions (with bleed), sufficient resolution, and realistic expectations about colors after conversion to the print color space (CMYK).
Generate the image at the right size
The most important rule: generate at the target proportions and size from the start. Add 2 mm of bleed on each side of the product size and convert to pixels at 300 DPI:

Formula for other sizes: (size in mm + 4 mm) ÷ 25.4 × 300 = pixels. Brochures are the exception: they have 3 mm bleed, so you add 6 mm. Keep important elements (text, logo) at least 5 mm away from the file edges, because the outer strip may be trimmed off.

What an AI generator cannot do
Black from a generator is composed of all inks, so large black areas will not print as deep as 100% K black from a vector design. Lettering below ~8 pt generated inside the image will be blurry. Add text separately or order a graphic design.
Smooth transitions may show banding. The image also has no cut line, and contour-cut products require a design with a cutting path.
Upload the file and check the preview
You upload PNG, JPG and TIFF in your order just like a PDF. The system fits the image to the ordered format, shows a preview with cut and safety lines, and warns you if the resolution is too low. Printing starts only after you approve the preview.
