How to prepare a print file for diplomas and certificates
New

Size and bleed

Prepare the design in the chosen size: A4 is 210 × 297 mm, A5 148 × 210 mm, A3 297 × 420 mm. Extend the background and frame 2 mm beyond the edge on every side, and keep text, logos and signatures at least 3 mm from the edge. A decorative frame right at the edge may look uneven after cutting, so move it in by a few millimetres.

Front and back

For single-sided printing the PDF has one page, for double-sided two: the first is the front, the second the back. Upload several different diplomas in one order as separate files.

Names

For personalisation, leave an empty space for the name in the design, without sample text. Prepare the list of names in Excel or CSV, one person per row. You set the position and typeface in the personalisation studio after uploading. More details in the article on online print personalisation.

Foiling

Prepare the elements to be foiled in a separate file of the same size as the design: black (K100), as vectors, with no other graphics. In the colour file you can leave the same logo or a blank background in that spot, depending on the effect you want.

File format

Send a PDF in CMYK, with fonts embedded or converted to outlines and images at 300 dpi. After upload we check the file automatically and you see the result before you pay.
