Gold, silver or holographic
Foiling is a thin metallic film that we apply only to selected parts of the design. On a diploma it is usually the logo, title, seal or a decorative frame that shines, while the rest is ordinary colour print. You can choose gold, silver or holographic foil, which shimmers in rainbow colours in the light.
We foil without a die, so you don't pay for tooling and printing starts at 10 pcs. This technique is called sleeking.
Why soft touch
Metallic foil only sticks to a smooth surface, so a foiled diploma always gets soft-touch laminate on both sides. It is matt, velvety to the touch and makes the gold shine stand out. This laminate is included in the price; you don't choose it separately.
Paper and size
We print on 300 or 350 g matt coated or silk paper. Thicker paper feels better in the hand and doesn't bend in a frame. Sizes are A4, A5 and A3; portrait or landscape comes from your file. The back can stay blank or be printed in colour. We foil one or both sides.
A foiled diploma with a name
The foil is the same on every copy, but the print can change. Choose personalisation, upload the list of names as an Excel or CSV file, and in the personalisation studio set where the name, date or certificate number should appear.
Foil file
Besides the colour design, you send a separate file with the elements to be foiled. The calculator asks for it once you choose this option, and the guide below the calculator explains how to prepare it.
Quantity, turnaround and price
We print from 10 pcs; the calculator shows 100 by default. Foiled diplomas usually ship in 3–4 working days. Diplomas without foil, including on fine papers, can be ordered in the Diplomas and certificates calculator.
